Challenge
Burger King needed a unified digital platform to power mobile, kiosk, and delivery experiences across multiple regions.
The goal was to centralize orders, menus, and payments in real-time, while streamlining back-of-house operations. The platform had to integrate with diverse POS systems, scale globally, and support AI-driven decision-making — all without disrupting day-to-day service.
Solution
We built a multi-region QSR platform designed for real-world scale
• A microservices backend on AWS handled order processing, payments, and user flows, built for fault tolerance and modular deployment
• Mobile, kiosk, and delivery channels were unified into one real-time system. We used Redis and Firebase to sync orders and statuses instantly across devices
• We integrated Micros and Symphony POS via a custom middleware layer that normalized data and ensured system-wide consistency
• We connected regional and global payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, local options), supporting multi-currency and tax rules with full PCI-DSS compliance
• A real-time analytics dashboard gave regional ops teams clear visibility into performance, demand, and customer behavior.
